& Vintage BMW Motorcycle Repair Site
Baltimore/Washington/Annapolis area, MD
Welcome to my Shop. I service BMW motorcycles from 1955 forward. I specialize in airheads. I have been a BMW mechanic since 1989. I was trained by Ted Porter, one of the best BMW mechanics in the industry and worked for Bob's BMW as a factory certified technician for 15 years.
If you have any need for my services, please don't hesitate to call (410)458-3850 or email mark@markdelaney.net. I can also do component repair if you'd like to remove it yourself and save a few$$. Feel free to call and I'd be happy to walk you through the process. I would, however recommend purchasing a manual. The Clymer manuals are good, comprehensive and are geared toward the hobbyist and assume you don't have all the special tools at hand. This is, by far, the best manual for pre-70 models.
I'm going to post photo's with descriptions of specific procedures I do along with strange little things I run into from time to time. I wish I had started this 20 years ago, but I didn't so I'll start it now. I will add to it and eventually make this as comprehensive as I possibly can. Here we go...
Below is a photo of my R50/2. /2's are great, I love them! When it comes down to it, these bikes do everything a motorcycle NEEDS to do. Here's a bike, 45 years old, starts first kick all the time and will run all day long without a hiccup. A true testament to the quality of BMW machines.
